Black Printers Network is where black printers meet to grow professionally, gain access, and give back to the culture.
Black print businesses have the chance to become really successful. But trying to grow a business on your own can be tough and lonely. That's where the Black Printers Network (BPN) comes in. We're all about growing together. At BPN, we've created a friendly and supportive space where everyone can learn and improve—not just their businesses, but also their skills and how they can make a bigger impact in the printing world. Every time we talk or work together, it's an opportunity to get better at what we do and help our businesses thrive.
We operate without gatekeepers, sharing valuable insights and resources among members, from industry trends to networking opportunities that open new doors. We invite industry experts to share their knowledge, enriching our community.
We're passionate about giving back but often lack the means. BPN harnesses this desire, with each member committed to supporting fellow Black printers and our broader culture. We offer scholarships to emerging apparel creators, reinforcing the Black printing community's foundation.
Gavin, Stan, and Nick, three Black printers, were always crossing paths at different decorated apparel industry events, trade shows, or meet-ups. Whenever they'd meet at these events, they made it a point to link up, talk shop, and just fellowship with each other...Through the handshakes, conversations, and networking, they noticed something missing: Black voices in the top industry are not unified or organized in a way that could benefit the industry, black print professionals, and the culture.
It was then that they realized nobody else would do it if it wasn't them and the real power to make this happen was in their hands. Conversations with other fellow Black printers confirmed it: there was a huge hunger for connection and a space for the professional development of black printers.
So, Gavin made some calls and sent a few emails. Nick, Stan, Keona, Roderick, Dawaud, Kesney, and Leon were on board. Ideas were flying a few Zoom calls later, and the spirit of collaboration and helpfulness was on full display, and the Black Printers Network was born
At the Long Beach Impressions Expo in January 2024, They had their first in-person meet-up with some of our founding members. At this meet-up, they shared breakfast together, strategized their plans for moving forward, and marked the start of their journey. This is a snapshot from that day.
